French Language, Culture and Sustainability in the French Alps!

If you answered YES to any of these questions, you will be delighted to learn that French faculty member Jessica Hoselton and the Department of French and Francophone Studies is excited to offer a summer study abroad program to Grenoble & Paris, France!
The four week interdisciplinary program will offer students 6-7 UIC credits: 3-4 in French language and 3 in a French cultural course focused on sustainability initiatives in France. The program will conclude with a 3-day stay in Paris.
ALL MAJORS WELCOME! NO PRIOR FRENCH EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!

1) French 298: EcoVenture: Sustainable Solutions in Grenoble & Paris, France
Our interdisciplinary course will involve experiential learning opportunities in Grenoble and Paris focused on zero-impact initiatives, sustainable urban design and development, and community-oriented policies.
Some of the hands-on experiences include a local farm visit, a zero-waste cooking class, a guided tour of an eco-neighborhood, and a service-learning activity to promote eco-friendly study abroad.
**This class is taught in English and can fulfill Creative Arts or World Cultures Gen-ED Core requirements.**

2) French Language Course:Â
The French language courses are taught by our host institution, l’UniversitĂ© de Grenoble Alpes at the Centre Universitaire dâĂtudes Françaises.Â
Upon taking a placement test for the appropriate course level, you will be able to either begin learning French or continue improving your language skills. ALL LEVELS WELCOME!
