Study Abroad
We highly encourage our majors and minors to take advantage of one of the many study abroad programs endorsed by UIC. There are programs in Paris, Montpellier, Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, and Rennes as well as in Quebec City.
The Study Abroad Office on the 5th floor of University Hall and the Director of Undergraduate Studies in French can work with you to help you choose a program and courses that will apply directly to your French major or minor.
Summer 2025: Sustainability and Culture in the French Alps Heading link
Beginning Summer 2025, the UIC Department of French and Francophone Studies will offer a faculty-led summer interdisciplinary study abroad program centered on French cultural immersion and European sustainability initiatives.
This program based in Grenoble, France (named the 2022 Green Capital of Europe) will provide students with unique opportunities to explore how this city and the organizations and companies work together towards a more sustainable future.
The month-long summer program will conclude with a 2-day stay in Paris.
