Open Textbook Faculty Incentive 2024-2025 grant awarded to Dolly Weber and Jessica Thornton-Hoselton for French BLP
French faculty Dolly Weber and Jessica Thornton-Hoselton have received additional funding through UIC's Faculty OER Incentive Program to expand the Open Educational Resource textbook Faire du Chemin for intermediate French BLP students. The online textbook, which began as a free open-source textbook for UIC FR 104 students, will undergo design this summer to expand to cover FR 103.
Per UIC: " The program encourages faculty to use and develop free open educational resources as alternatives to traditional textbooks for undergraduate courses. The program, part of UIC’s student success initiative, was developed in response to student concerns about the high cost of course materials."
